View Summary

The purpose of this study was to determine how psoriastic patients were screened for tuberculosis control during the use of biologic agents, and to discover which modality was employed if a diagnosis of latent tuberculosis infection (LTBI) was made. the subjects were 1,117 patients who visited 18 participating institutions from 2010 to march 2017 and received biologics with a diagnosis of psoriasis. of 167 patients treated with LTBI, 166 were given isoniazid for a median duration of 232 days. adverse effects of LTBI treatment occurred in 23 patients (15%), liver damage, occurring in 19 patients (83%), the most common adverse effect. these careful measures achieved a very low incidence (0.2%) of active tuberculosis.
