     View Summary

Amines contribute significantly to new particle formation among biogenic volatile organic compounds. However, polyamines have not been investigated in detail. In the present study, a part of the role of polyamines in particle formation was elucidated by determining the concentration of polyamines in the subtropical forest atmosphere. Three typical diamines were detected in the subtropical forest, and their concentrations were high on days with high temperature and solar radiation during the Fagaceae blossom season. On the other hand, aminoamide, which derived from diamine and more contribute to new particle formation than diamines, was not detected. Additionally, new particle formation event in which microparticles were generated and grew as the concentration of diamine increased from daytime to evening was observed.
